Google's Android is now 3 years old.

On the 5th of November 2007, the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of several companies was formed to develop open standards for mobile devices.

On 5th Nov 2010, the much hyped baby OS, Android OS will be celebrating its 3rd Birthday.

The journey started with T-Mobile G1 and now you know where its now, almost on many hardware devices tough its is phone or a PC Tablet. With the latest Nielsen survey, Android is the fastest growing mobile OS in US. In fact, in aggregate they’re now outselling those running on Apple’s iOS, with recent numbers putting Google (Google)’s share of the mobile operating system market at nearly 20%.

Three years ago, Google CEO Eric Schmidt said, “Our vision is that the powerful platform we’re unveiling will power thousands of different phone models.” So they are on to it.
