After receiving critical feedback from Tech sites, LG goes back on its words of not upgrading optimus one variants to recently released v2.3 update. Now, comes up statement that it will definitely upgrade its phones.
Optimus One variant, including other series can now have tasty Gingerbread.
In damage control, company apologized for its earlier denial, where it incorrectly argued that none of its Optimus phones could handle Android 2.3 due to requirements. "We sincerely apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding that was caused regarding this issue," LG wrote.
Google didn't specify any minimum hardware requirement, test shows Android 2.3 can sometimes be faster on the same hardware since, the new code uses memory and processor power more efficiently than Android 2.2.
