Sony, makers of gaming console Playstation, is going to launch free iPhone and Android apps for Playstation likely to be at early 2011.

According to the company, the first versions of the apps will come to the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands, with more countries expected soon.

The first versions, users will be able to monitor their PlayStation Network trophies as well as friends’ games and online statuses and also deliver gaming news and PlayStation announcements, and it will let users share news or interesting product details via Twitter, Facebook and email.

System requirements: iPhone and iPod touch users will need iOS 4; Androids need to be running Android 1.6+.
